Translating evidence into practice

One of the biggest issues in any science is being able to translate the results of a study and apply them to real world scenarios.  This is not only frustrating for the research team, but for all involved parties.

One article that I came across recently decided to address this issue with a focus in public health:

Citation:  Pronovost PJ et al. 2008.  Translating evidence into practice: a model for large scale knowledge translation.  BMJ;337:a1714.

URL:  http://www.bmj.com/content/337/bmj.a1714

The article discusses how a model has been created to help foster the translation of research data into applicable real world scenarios, particularly within the field of public health.

What are your thoughts and opinions about the article?  Do you find it useful?
